Red Light
Therapy
Red light therapy is a non-invasive wellness service that uses specific wavelengths of light to support the body at a cellular level. Commonly incorporated into recovery and wellness routines, red light therapy is known for its role in supporting tissue health, circulation, and the body’s natural repair processes.
How does Red Light work?
Red light therapy works by delivering specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light into the body’s tissues. These wavelengths penetrate the skin and are absorbed by structures within the cell, particularly the mitochondria, which play a central role in cellular energy production.
When absorbed, these wavelengths interact with the mitochondrial electron transport chain, a key process involved in the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the primary energy source used by cells. Supporting ATP production helps cells carry out normal repair, maintenance, and signaling functions more efficiently.
Red light therapy also influences circulation through localized vasodilation, increasing blood flow to treated areas. Increased circulation supports oxygen and nutrient delivery while assisting the clearance of metabolic byproducts associated with physical stress and activity.
In addition, red light therapy interacts with inflammatory signaling pathways and oxidative stress responses, which is why it is widely incorporated into recovery and wellness routines. Because the therapy is non-thermal and non-invasive, sessions are designed to support physiological processes without placing additional stress on the body.
What to expect
Red light therapy sessions are calm, comfortable, and self-guided. You’ll be shown to a private room where you can change and prepare at your own pace.
For your session, you’ll partially disrobe to allow the light to reach the skin and then lie comfortably on the therapy bed. Once you’re settled, the session begins and runs for a set amount of time.
During the session, most people simply relax, breathe, or take a few quiet moments to unwind. There is no heat, discomfort, or physical sensation beyond the warmth of the light itself.
When the timer ends, the session is complete. You can get dressed and return to your day with no downtime required.
